THE SIGNAL

Catalog depth, not catalog noise

Mora than 40,000 tracks queued for ingestion from Colombia, Puerto Rico, Argentina and Dominican Republic labels and independent urban Latin catalogs. These are the parts of the catalog the global sync industry has historically reached for last and understood least. That is exactly where Synclat needs to be deep.

Every track passes through our enrichment standard before it touches a search result. Mood, tempo, key, regional sub-genre, lyrics, rights data confirmed. Poor metadata is a platform failure, not a catalog issue.

RECOGNITION
🌎 The room is starting to talk

This month Patricia Carrera Marín, CEO of Control Freaks and President of ASM (the Spanish Speaking Music Supervision Association), spoke about Synclat in her interview with AIMS.

Paty has seventeen years inside the Latin music industry and supervision credits across Netflix, Amazon, Disney, and HBO. When a voice like hers speaks about Synclat publicly, it is not a marketing event. It is a signal that the people doing the actual work see the gap we are building to fill.“Show, don’t code: if a robot can learn your workflow from a video, your process is a product.”

Tagging has been a challenge. There's one company I know of that's developing an auto-tagging tool specifically for Latin music, Synclat . They're bringing in people from very important Latin catalogs.

PARTNERSHIP
Finain alliance: Southern Cone live

We have signed a strategic sync alliance with Finain in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

Finain specialise in advertising placements across the Southern Cone, with deep networks among brands, agencies, and producers in markets the Anglo sync industry rarely services well. For rights holders in the region, this means a direct path into global advertising briefs with a local partner who knows the room.

ADVISORS
A bench is forming

Several senior figures from the global music industry have joined Synclat as strategic advisors in recent weeks. We are not naming them yet. Each will be introduced on their own terms in the next update.

What we will say now is this: the calibre of people willing to sit beside this company has exceeded what we expected at this stage. That is a direct result of the trust-first posture we have held since incorporation

PRESENCE
📅 Where we showed up

In May I joined the panel at BIME Bogotá alongside BMG and ONErpm, in the fifth-anniversary edition of one of the most important industry gatherings in the Ibero-American world. The conversation was honest about what the next decade of Latin music looks like, and Synclat was in that conversation, not watching it.

Next stop is Circulart in Medellín on 5 June, where I will sit on a panel about AI and sync workflows. Circulart is where Colombia's most serious music professionals gather, and bringing the AI and sync conversation home matters to me personally. If you will be there, find me.

NEXT STEPS
📅 June and July

Three things on the public horizon:

The next update will name the advisors. We will begin publishing hand-curated editorial playlists. The Synclat closed - BETA live on synclat.ai.

We are not pulling closed beta forward. We are not delaying it. We are letting it open when the supervisor experience is something we would put our name on without hedging.

🛠️ Ready BETA features

  • Smart AI Search | Matches music to brands or brief DNA

  • Marketplace filters | Commercial, Library music

  • Virtual Negotiation room

  • Draft projects

  • SABIA - AI our Ai engine - can now curate playlist from smart search, this allows users to co-work with AI on playlist curation.

Tech team prompt: Inside Synclat, music supervisors spend less time chasing rights and more time choosing music. That is the entire product thesis.

Until June. We keep building.

Building the infrastructure. One catalog, one supervisor, one room at a time.
